No. 411096, 1st University Co., PPCLI, Attestation Papers. Possible Diary Reference: “On guard with Turner, Ward and Corp. [C.] Spurgeon at chateau,” 2:15 Nov ’15. Pte. Turner was wounded 2 June 1916 and struck off strength, 7 June 1916. Pte. A. J. Turner, Reg. No. 1733, is another possibility, but Pte. F. W. Turner, Reg. No. 51031, is less likely because he was wounded 15 September 1916.
