Beech, Arthur Henry Samuel, enlisted at Ottawa, Ontario, originally from Wellington, Shropshire, England. Occupation: Carpenter. Military Service: Private, Reg. No. 642, PPCLI. Attestation Papers. Diary Reference: “[A. H. S.] Beach [Beech], [Herbert L.] Chappel[l], [H. G.] Watson and myself volunteered,” 3:16 Sep ’16. According to Hodder-Williams, Beech was wounded 8 May 1915 and struck off strength 12 May 1915. Evidently, he returned to the PPCLI after recovery.
