Lt George Roy Stevens

 

Stevens, George Roy, Edmonton, Alberta. Occupation: student. Military Service: Sergeant, Lieutenant, McGill 85, 2nd University Co., officer 6th University Co., PPCLI, Attestation Papers. Diary Reference: “Lt. [George Roy] Stevens (McG) told me they are closing down on commissions,” 5:7 Aug ’17. Lt. Stevens was wounded at the Battle of Sanctuary Wood, 2 June 1916, and gassed 28 October 1917, but survived the war.

Additional Biographical Information:

Lt. George Roy Stevens was a 22-year-old student at the University of Alberta when he enlisted in May 1915. Like Frank, he was originally connected with the 2nd University Company, but became an officer in the 6th University in October 1916.
