Reading, Harold Sidney, Strathnairn, Ontario, originally of London, England. Occupation: farmer. Military Service: Private, Lance Corporal, Reg. No.487419, 5th University Co., PPCLI, Attestation Papers. “Coming back we met [F.W.] Crawford and [H.S.] Redding [Reading]. Crawford is going to England right away for a commission.,” 4:13 May ’17. According to Hodder-Williams, Pte. H. S. Reading joined the PPCLI in the field on 9 June 1916. He was wounded 15 September 1916 at the Battle of Courcelette, but apparently recovered. He was struck off strength on 20 March 1919.
