Additional Biographical Information

Lieut. Arthur Erskine Goodeve enlisted 8 March 1915 in Montreal, initially for the 38th Canadian Battalion, but because of the need for reinforcements for the PPCLI, he instead became part of the 1st University Company under Capt. Gregor Barclay. A McGill student in Applied Science 13-15, Goodeve was 20 years of age when he enlisted and was just a little over 21 when he was killed at the Battle of Courcelette on 17 September 1916.
