A.] Clarke and told him I had done a little mechanical drawing and thought possibly I could manage the job. He then told [C.] Spurg. to hand my name into orderly office and see what they said about it, so am at present waiting to know if I go back to the trenches again with the boys or not,” 3:8 Jul ’16. According to Hodder-Williams, 75, Major Clarke was struck off strength on 25 May 1917 to command P.P.C.L.I Reserve Depot, Seaford.
