William Davies Moyle

Moyle, William Davies, Edmonton, Alberta. Occupation: student. Military Service, Private, Reg. No. McGill 58, 2nd University Co., PPCLI, Attestation Papers. Diary References: “[V. S.] Ferguson, of Yorkton and [W.D.] Moyle also were wounded but I don’t know how seriously,” 2:13 Oct ’15; “[W.D.] Moyle died of wounds,” 2:16 Oct ’15. Frank claimed that Moyle died on October 16, but the Commonwealth War Graves Commission did not list him. According to Hodder-Williams, 273, Moyle was stuck off strength, 22 October 1915, suggesting that he had been so severely wounded that he could no longer serve as a soldier. More investigation required.
