Lance-Corporal Frederick Dobie, McGill 229, aged 35, was a merchant before joining the 2nd University Company in June 1915. “He was killed in action by a rifle grenade just after effecting relief of the 49th Bn. 7 May 1916.” Newman, With the Patricia’s in Flanders, 106-107.
