Harry William Howard

Howard, Harry William, enlisted at Ottawa, Ontario, originally of London, England. Occupation: Labourer. Military Service: Private, Reg. No. 1076, PPCLI, Attestation Papers. Possible, but unlikely, Diary Reference: “Hooked up with [H.] Howard and [J.B.] Mawdsley,” 2:27 Oct ’15. Although Pte. H. W. Howard was with the PPCLI at the time, it is more likely that Henry Howard, 410989, and James Buckland Mawdsley, 411137, both members of the 1st University Company, would have been together. According to Hodder-Williams, 210, Pte. H. W. Howard was wounded 29 August 1917, but recovered and was struck off strength at demobilisation on 20 March 1919.
