Miss B.A. Duncan

Miss B.A. Duncan, 1912.

Duncan, Miss B. A., Lecturer in Cooking (1914-1915), Third Floor, Administration Building.

A graduate of the Hamilton Ladies’ College, Miss Duncan attended the University of Toronto for two years. After completing her studies there, she enrolled at the Hamilton Normal School, where she received training in Household Science, followed by a special course in dietetics at Guelph Agricultural College. She gained considerable experience in her work to promote Women’s Institutes in Ontario, then came west and carried on the same kind of work in Manitoba during the summer of 1911 as she travelled around the province with the M.A.C.’s special train. In the fall of 1911, she joined the staff of M.A.C. According to the Gazette, her lectures were “attractive as well as instructive” and students were “fortunate...to come under her supervision.”
